Chapter 2: The Birthday

"Last time I met Riya, I gave her a chocolate.  It was her birthday" Ryan blushed as he told the little interaction he had with his elementary crush, Riya. Scarlett couldn't help but to smile widely looking at his red cheeks.

The little boy sitting in front of her was red like a tomato while mentioning his classmate, Riya Tan. A girl who was newly took admission to his classroom. Ryan couldn't help but talk about his little cute crush on the girl to Scarlett. 

"Then what did she say?" Scarlett asked with visible interest, her wide smile never leaving her lips as she sat beside Ryan on the couch while listening to the sweet little interaction he has with his crush.

"She thanked me. She said that I'm a good boy" Ryan's blush deepened as he looked down fiddling with the sleeves of his jacket.

"Of course, she said the right thing. My Ryan is a good boy" Scarlett chuckled before her finger ruffled his soft baby hair.

"You know she said she's so glad that I'm her friend. She also said that I'm different from all the boys in our class. I don't make fun of her and always play with her" Ryan said innocently.

"My little gentleman Ryan" Scarlett praised the boy. His smile widened at the compliment.

"And she also gift me this toy ninja for my birthday gift" Ryan showed the little blue ninja that his friend has gifted him. Scarlett let out a soft gasp stunned looking at his toy.

"Isn't it amazing, Scar?" He grinned.

"It's wonderful, Ryan. Your friend is as thoughtful as you" Scarlett smiled looking at the cute birthday gift that Ryan has received for his birthday from his dear little friend aka crush.

Today is Ryan's birthday. The preparations for the celebrations were still going on. The party was about to begin at seven in the evening.  Right now it was four and three hours were still left. Scarlett took charge of the planning in her hands. She was busy with the discussions and preparations since the morning. And right now, they took a break as they were having snack time.

Ryan has turned five and time was passing so quickly. Scarlett is one of the closest people to Ryan. As a toddler, Scarlett spent so much time with him. She moved out of this place just two years ago.

Only she could tell how much she was going to miss little Ryan when she settled into her career and moved out with Nancy. Ryan's parents have done so much for her when she was a teenager.

If not for them, Scarlett could never made it this far. And everyone is so proud of her. She is living the life she always deserved.  Independent and carefree.

Though, only If they knew about the obstacles her company is facing right now.

Scarlett hasn't told anyone about this till now.

"Ryan?"

The conversation between Ryan and Scarlett was soon put on pause by the thick and rough voice that filled in the place. Scarlett could feel the twinge that crept up to her spine by the effect that the voice has left on her.

How can she forget this voice.

It belongs to 'him'

"Uncle?" Ryan's innocent big eyes widened in surprise as he saw one of his favourite people standing on the door-side.

The plate of food was soon placed on to the side by him as he stood up running to his favourite person's hug. The man smiled before picking up the little boy in a warm embrace. 

"Happy birthday, my Lil man" Ryan squealed in the man's hug.

"Thank you so much, Uncle" Ryan grinned widely.

"How's my little buster doing?" The man smiled.

Scarlett was still present in the room. Although, she felt awkward for just standing there as the uncle-nephew duo had their little fun conversation leaving would be rude as well, right?

"Nice to see you, Ms Adair" His thick and rich voice pulled her out of her thoughts. The man standing in front was staring at her already. 

Those stares.

They are too intimidating. 

"Nice to see you as well, Mr Walker" She replied trying to be as much as polite as she could. The man stared at her for a brief moment before his attention was pulled by the kid in his embrace. 

"I played a lot today and I had a lot of fun at my school. Riya wished me and we eat lunch together" Ryan squealed.  The man raised his eyebrow to a Perfect level at the little boy's words.

"Really?" He chuckled as Ryan nodded before telling him about his whole story the man listened to him carefully with utmost interest and a smile on his face.

Scarlett was a bit stunned in heart to see this man standing in front of her, with a kid in his arms, smiling and laughing alongside the kid. It was something so new for her to witness.

Although, she has only had a few encounters with this man in six years since she started living here for her graduation including the newest one for today that happened just a while now.

But only a few encounters with him were enough for Scarlett to get what type of man 'Noel Walker' is.

His name and reputation are powerful enough to suck the life out of someone's heart. Nobody sane would ever mess with and cross paths with him.

He's the most arrogant, ice-cold, unmerciful and scrupulous man Scarlett has come to cross paths with in her life. Though, her sane mind would always be composed and working right advising her to never mess up with him or even come in his interests lists.

If he got a bad image of you, then you're future is screwed. 

Everyone knows that, Including Scarlett. 

He's not only the most wicked but also one of the most influential, well-reputed and eloquent personalities in the country.  The city fears him and for sure never messes with him.

And no sane person in their mind would wish to cross paths with him or stumble in his way.

Although, Noel Walker has been distanced from the media for the last month. He's been giving very few public appearances since his engagement broke off.

His ex-fiance Natalie Davies. Some media says that she ran away. Some say that she has cheated on him and others say that she and Noel broke off because of realizing that they were not suitable for each other.

Though probably most of the news outlets were just spreading false information for the sake of their news channel's rating points and probably only Noel and Natalie know what's the real truth behind their break-up.

Though Noel Walker for sure never has seen dating in the media or maybe that he's too private about his personal life's matters but the sudden announcement of his engagement was a huge dismay for the medias and then, before the news channels could built up their ratings on it, the news for their break-up broke out in the media. 

Only they know the real truth and Noel has never cared to explain the situations to medias. They were trying to get too much out of his personal life though.

Natalie was missed from the public eye since then, nobody was able to know where she's been or where she is right now but sure it has put a lot of fuel in the already spreading fire in the media that Noel had to deal with.

In his last interview with The Royal Entrance, he said that they break up because of their differences in understanding and scheduling difficulties. They found it difficult to cooperate and broke up.

But only he knows how much truth he has told to the medias.

"Uncle, I got this from Riya as my birthday gift" Ryan blushed before showing his little ninja to Noel who sat beside him.

"Wow, that's cute." Noel chuckled as he looked at the little Ninja toy that Ryan showed him.

"Oh you're finally here, Aden"

Annabella, Noel's sister and Ryan's mom heaved a sigh of relief as she entered the room witnessing Noel.

She calls him Aden for some reason.

Only this brother-sister duo knows.

"Umm yes but what happened, Anna? Why do you look a bit tensed?" Noel asked as he stood up from the bed. Scarlett also looked at Anna in concern finding as if she was in a bit of trouble.

"Alright listen, I need a bit of your help. Come, I'll explain to you," Anna said as if a was in a bit hurry.

"Scar, will you please make sure that Ryan doesn't come out? I'll tell you the matter, later" Anna requested politely. Scarlett smiled before nodding. 

"Don't need to worry, Anna. I'm here. Go" Scarlett whispered back as Anna muttered a "Thank you" before leaving outside with her brother.
